During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, when businesses were
shutting down and uncertainty loomed, I had an idea—to create jobs for my
employees while bringing a unique experience to people. That’s how the Red Sauna
was born—a mobile sauna built inside a Russian van, designed to bring warmth and
relaxation to the most breathtaking locations in Mongolia. From Idea to Reality
With my team, we transformed an ordinary van into a fully functional sauna that
could accommodate 6–8 people at a time.
The goal was simple: to take this sauna
to the most picturesque spots—by rivers, lakes, and deep in the forests—allowing
people to enjoy the contrast of heat and Mongolia’s rugged, icy landscapes.
Though sauna culture in Mongolia is still developing, more and more people have
started embracing it in recent years. Our Red Sauna quickly attracted
adventurers, locals, and travelers eager for a new kind of relaxation. Over the
past five years, it has served hundreds of people, offering them an
unforgettable blend of nature, tradition, and wellness.
Why "Red" Sauna?
Interestingly, the sauna was never meant to be red! Originally, I had envisioned
it in orange, but due to a color code error during the painting process, it
turned out red instead. Rather than changing it, I embraced the mishap and
officially named it the Red Sauna, a name that has since become synonymous with
adventure and resilience.
